About · Brisbane, Australia

A small Australian software business with one strong opinion.

Lunar8Ops is Australian document-drafting software for businesses that win and get paid on paperwork. It drafts tenders, quotes, variation claims and reports from your own rates and your own past documents, and a person approves every one before it sends.

Why it exists

Every business we talked to before building this had the same shape of problem, and none of them described it as a software problem. How they price, how they word the difficult ones, and what they have learned never to promise lived in two or three people's heads and an inbox nobody could search. When those people were busy, the tender did not get written. When they left, it went with them.

The tools that were supposed to fix this went in two directions and missed in both. Job management software prices the job beautifully and then falls silent at exactly the point where a document has to make an argument. Chat assistants write a good paragraph and forget everything, including the price list, the moment you close the tab.

What was missing was the boring half: somewhere for a business's rates and rules and past work to live permanently, in a form the business owns and can read, with something that drafts from it and refuses to contradict it. That is what this is. It is not glamorous and it does not demo especially well, and it is the part that decides whether any of it is usable on a real job.

We started in Brisbane, with subcontractors bidding and claiming, because Queensland security-of-payment is a subject where the paperwork decides who gets paid and the deadlines are unforgiving. If it works there it works most places.

What we will not do

The positions, and what each one costs us.

These are constraints rather than features. Each one makes the product worse at something, and we would rather write them down than be discovered holding them.

It drafts. A person always approves.

Nothing is ever sent, signed or submitted without someone reading it first, and that is structural rather than a setting. It costs us the demo where the software does something impressive unattended. It is also the only reason a business can point this at a real inbox.

It will not state what it cannot evidence.

If a claim is not backed by something in your own material, the draft flags it instead of writing a plausible sentence. Some people find that irritating in the first week. It is the whole product by month six, because an unevidenced claim in a prequalification response is how a business loses a place on a panel.

There is no connector to your job system.

No simPRO, AroFlo, ServiceM8, Procore or Xero integration, and none planned. Your job system owns the job. Moving your data out of it would create a synchronisation problem, a privacy question, and a reason for your job-management vendor to treat us as a competitor — none of which help you.

Measured is kept separate from estimated.

The product reports what it actually produced separately from what that time is modelled to be worth, and it will not state a win rate at all until enough outcomes exist for one to mean anything. Rendering a guess with the authority of a measurement is the one thing a number like that must never do.

Your uploads do not outlive the day.

Files are deleted within 24 hours of being processed and nothing you write trains anyone's model, on any tier including the free one. You can read everything the system has learned in plain English, correct any line, and export the lot.

Everything a prequalification pack or a procurement questionnaire asks for about the entity. The data-handling half is on the security page, which is written to be forwarded.

The quickest way to judge us is on your own work.

Not a demo video and not a call. Tell us your company name and we will send back one page on a tender that is open right now: the questions where your published evidence does not cover the answer, with the closing date at the top. You send us nothing.
