Does simPRO, AroFlo or Procore write your tenders and claims?

No. simPRO, AroFlo, Procore and similar systems own the job, the schedule, the register and the ledger, and they price a job once someone enters the line items. None of them writes the tender response, the prequalification answer, the variation claim narrative or the extension-of-time notice, because they were not built to.

Last reviewed

We don't touch your job system. We don't want your data out of it, we don't replace it. We do the writing it was never built to do.

That is the whole position and it is worth being blunt about, because the first thing a subcontractor asks is whether this is another system that wants to own their jobs. It is not, and there is no connector to any of them — deliberately. That is the guarantee rather than a gap on a roadmap.

The distinction is between structured data and words. A job-management system is excellent at the structured part: what was quoted, what was ordered, who is on site, what has been invoiced. It falls silent at exactly the point where a document has to make an argument.

Where simPRO, AroFlo, Procore and other job-management systems wins

What we are not better at.

Everything to do with running the job

Scheduling, job costing, purchase orders, timesheets, asset registers, invoicing, and the accounting integration. This is not a category we compete in and any attempt to would be worse than what you already have.

Pricing a job from line items

If the work is describable as a set of catalogue items and labour hours, these systems price it accurately and fast, and they keep the pricing attached to the job. Nothing here improves on that.

Being the single record of what happened

The register of jobs, variations raised and invoices issued should live in one place, and that place should be your job system. It stays the source of truth.

Choosing

Stay with simPRO, AroFlo, Procore and other job-management systems when

  • You need to schedule work, cost a job, raise a purchase order or invoice a client.
  • The question is “what happened on this job”.

Lunar8Ops earns its place when

  • The question is “what do we write, and can we back it up”.
  • A document has to persuade someone rather than record something.
  • The same answers are being retyped for the fourth prequalification this year.

Fair questions

On this comparison.

Will you build an integration with simPRO or AroFlo?

No, and that is a position rather than a backlog item. An integration means your job data leaving the system that owns it, which creates a synchronisation problem, a privacy question and a reason for your job-management vendor to treat us as a competitor. None of those help you. What this needs is your price list and your past documents, which you can export from anywhere.

So we would be running two systems?

You already are — the second one is Word, a shared drive and whoever writes best in the office. This replaces that one, not your job system.

Does it duplicate our rates?

It holds a certified copy of the rates that go into documents, which is usually a subset of your full catalogue. You maintain it in one place and every document after it reprices. If your job system's rates change, updating the certified table is a file upload.

Judge it on one of your own tenders.
